About Me

Hi, I’m Kaitlyn Reed, a student at the University of Central Florida studying journalism with a minor in sports business management planning to graduate in Spring 2027.

I’ve always loved telling stories and connecting with people, which is what drew me to journalism. Whether I’m behind a microphone, writing a story, interviewing someone or working on a video, I enjoy finding the part of a story that makes people want to keep watching or reading.

My experience so far has included student reporting for The Charge, covering UCF volleyball, working as a high school sports reporter with the Sports Advocate Network and gaining experience in both audio and video broadcasting. Sports have been a big part of my life, but I’m interested in much more than just sports. I want to explore different areas of journalism and tell stories that make an impact in my community.

I’m still figuring out exactly where journalism will take me, but I know I want a career that keeps me learning, meeting new people and telling stories that matter. I’m excited to keep building my skills, taking on new challenges and seeing where this career takes me.
